Art & Heritage

Since 2016 Wide VR has brought art online in real-time 3D: photogrammetry-scanned sculptures, the first exhibition in 3D cloud streaming and WebGL gallery spaces that anyone can visit from a browser.

Art and cultural heritage in real-time 3D

A virtual exhibition should feel like a visit, not a slideshow. Wide VR digitises artworks and spaces with photogrammetry and 3D modelling, then makes them explorable in real time: visitors move freely between the works and look at every detail from any angle, from a phone, a computer or a VR headset.

What we build

  • Digital twins of artworks: sculptures and objects scanned with photogrammetry, with every surface detail preserved.
  • Virtual exhibitions in the browser: WebGL gallery spaces that open instantly, with no downloads.
  • 3D cloud streaming: exhibition-quality rendering on a remote server, streamed to any device.
  • VR visits: the same spaces on a headset, for events and installations.

Selected projects

  • Mimmo Paladino, I Dormienti (2021): 32 terracotta sculptures digitised with photogrammetry and shown in real-time 3D streaming, commissioned by Cardi Gallery in Milan and featured on Wired Italia.
  • Yayoi Kusama (2020): the world's first exhibition in 3D cloud streaming, with works from 1950 to 2007, commissioned by Mucciaccia Gallery.
  • Massimo De Carlo VSPACE (2020-2023): the gallery's virtual exhibition space, with 16 online exhibitions built in WebGL.
